Circuitry

The signal path is fully balanced from input to output and uses FETs exclusively

The audio circuitry must be capable of amplifying the musical signal without alteration. To this end, the Ayre V-3 circuit is a complementary design using no negative feedback. The circuit's elegant topology comprises a cascoded differential input stage followed by a source-follower output stage. This straightforward approach results in remarkable immediacy and musical purity.

The output stage incorporates ultra-linear high-power devices, enabling the V-3 to effortlessly drive the most demanding loudspeakers to real-life playback levels. Subtle musical nuances are delivered with complete fidelity.

Power Supply

Separate power supplies are provided for the input-stage and output-stage audio circuits

Since the power that drives your loudspeakers comes from the amplifier's power supply, a clean source of power is required to deliver a pure music signal. The Ayre V-3 uses two-stage, inductor-input filtering which is twice as effective as conventional designs. In addition, fully-balanced circuitry provides further immunity from power-supply fluctuations.
