Ayre has been developing innovative digital audio technologies for several years. To
avoid the problem of obsolescence, we have waited until the new high-resolution digital
audio formats have become a reality before introducing our digital products.
The D-3 is a one-box player featuring fully-modular construction to give life-long
compatibility with all digital formats, past, present, and future. Next-generation digital
filters and D/A converter chips assure the finest possible signal conversion. The analog
circuitry is fully-discrete, zero-feedback, FET-based, utilizing Ayre's propietary
differential current-to-voltage converter.
Offering extremely musical and analog-like CD playback, it also plays 96 kHz, 24-bit
digital audio disks.
