AH! TJOEB '99 EXPERIMENTS / OPTIONS
We are experimenting with a number of things to see if these can become available as options to add to the AH! Tjoeb '99: Any idea from current or future owners are welcome and will be subject of serious investigation:
Adding a digital coaxial output. This is for practical use, not for soundquality reasons. Available Now.
Adding an internal AH! AC Noise Killer. This is placed direct on the AC input and its purpose is to clean the AC voltage at the beginning of the circuit. The advantage to do this internally is that the AC cable cannot pick-up any "dirt" after the filtering. Available Now.
Exchange of the very (or better: very, very) basic standard AC cable. We still have not decided which cable will be our choice and how we are going to use it. Or do we exchange the current standard AC cable with an IEC chassis connector, giving every owner the freedom to make his own choice? To Be Announced.
Replacement of the very basic standard feet with better quality, but affordable, feet. We had quite good results with the Vibrapod feet (smallest model). Final choice and decision not made yet. To Be Announced.
Adding (at critical points, but certainly the cover) damping material. We got best results until now with a highly special lead / barium coating we used in the past for our Record Interface Mat. Unfortunately it is a little more expensive than most standard damping materials, but it looks like it is worth the extra money. We are looking into a way to integrate full-topcover internal copper-shielding too! To Be Announced.
Adding a SuperCrystal to the Tjoeb instead of the standard basic Crystal Marantz uses works very, very well. The first Tjoeb owners who had this installed are very enthousiastic about the further improved control of the bass and the width and depth of the soundstage. Available Now, but only for installation by us. After availability of manual it can be sent to existing Tjoeb owners to do their own SuperCrystal upgrade.
As soon as options become available we will inform existing
Tjoeb owners and we will find ways to make the option available to all of them, wherever
they live. Of course you can do your own kind of modifications, but to keep the product uniform
we suggest to wait until an option (and the best way to install it) becomes available. If
for a modification a certain tool is necessary we will find ways to make it available.
